Rare Jewel Insight: December 16, 2004
I am so excited that I can't help but leak portions of an article from the next issue of Rare Jewel Magazine. This information is so important that every Christian Patriot should be praying now for a battle that is brewing -- a true modern day version of "David versus Goliath."
The article I'm referring to is based on an interview with Allan Parker, who is the lead attorney representing Norma McCorvey in attempt to have Roe v Wade overturned (Norma is the "Jane Roe" of Roe v Wade). Last night as I read the transcript of our interview, I couldn't help but feel that this could be the most important article that Christian Patriots will read next year.
Parker, McCorvey, and their allies are "David."
"Goliath" is the combined forces of Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union, National Organization for Women, National Abortion Rights Action League, and others who have tremendously deep pockets compared to the humble resources of Parker and McCorvey. Relying on its millions of dollars and a liberally biased federal court, Goliath seeks to continue the 30-plus year run of legalized abortion on demand, which began with the 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe v Wade.
Yet as I write, David has already stepped forward, equipped with sling and a few stones. In the natural, the odds against victory are overwhelming? but David is backed by the one and only Living God, the Lord Almighty, and the prayers of His saints:
"You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will hand you over to me? All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands."
(1 Samuel 17:45-47)
- Do you know that Norma McCorvey became a Christian in 1995?
- Do you know that she never did get an abortion? Before the Roe v Wade decision was handed down she had already given birth and put the baby up for adoption.
- Do you know that the Supreme Court will be making its decision to overturn Roe v Wade in the next few months --beginning with Parker's petition to the Court in January?

The story of Parker and McCorvey is not the story of a group of lawyers who selfishly seek to push their agenda in spite of the personal needs of their client (as was the case in Roe v Wade -- another shocking story). Rather, it is a story of how God is working, as is often the case, with and through His humble servants with limited means in the natural.
We very well may be on the brink of David slaying Goliath. But we should not sit on the sidelines. Please, step into action:
1. Pray! Pray for our nation, for the redeemed and forgiven like Norma "Jane Roe" McCorvey, for anointed servants like Allan Parker.
