“God’s Mandate for His People to Know and Speak”
(by Tim Ewing, Founder/Publisher, Rare Jewel Magazine)
This weekend I’m in Dallas, Texas, attending the Pro-Family Legislators Conference--produced by David Barton and the rest of our good friends at Wallbuilders. Many of you will recall that our inaugural “Required Reading” column in the Premiere Issue of Rare Jewel Magazine spotlighted David’s book, Original Intent.
David is one of the foremost historians of our day, gaining his expertise by studying his personal library of over 70,000 original documents/works from America’s Founding Era.
Last night at the opening keynote, David concluded his talk with a reference to Malachi 2:7, “For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, and from his mouth men should seek instruction--because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty.” The Apostle John, in Revelation 1:6, describes all followers of Christ--pastors and their flocks--as priests. Accordingly, it is our duty to KNOW the truth and to speak it forth…to be experts on all matters spiritual and otherwise. After all, Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that God’s Word is useful for every facet of life.
Inspired by Proverbs 20:15, “Lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel,” Rare Jewel Magazine educates and equips God’s priestly kingdom for our duty of instructing and encouraging all of mankind as we function as salt and light--with the goal of discipling all nations into Christian nations just as Christ commanded in Matthew 28:19--the Great Commission.
Thank you for joining us in this adventure of obedience to our Creator.
We encourage you to show appreciation to your pastor by taking advantage of our special offer (see item 1 above). Also, be sure to purchase a subscription for yourself if you have not already done so. We must take serious God’s exhortation as His priests to preserve knowledge and to then pass it along.
